President Michael D Higgins is expected to return to Áras an Uachtaráin on Thursday after undergoing tests at St James’s Hospital, Dublin.

The President was admitted last Thursday after feeling unwell, and subsequent tests have shown positive results, indicating no serious or long-term health concerns.

The medical team determined that the President experienced a mild transient weakness from which a full recovery is expected. President Higgins agreed to remain in the hospital for additional monitoring of his blood pressure, with his return to Áras an Uachtaráin scheduled for Thursday.

Despite the hospital stay, he remains in good spirits, continuing his constitutional duties and is anticipated to meet with the Taoiseach on Friday.

The President's medical team has advised limiting public engagements in the coming weeks for a brief period of recuperation. President Higgins expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and thanked medical staff for their care.
