In Dublin, a protest backing Palestine has amplified calls for equal legal status for Palestinians akin to Ukrainians in Ireland, urging recognition as EU citizens. Gary Daly, a solicitor with the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, pressed for invoking international law to charge Israel with genocide, citing the deliberate targeting of Palestinian civilians. This marked the ninth consecutive Saturday where thousands rallied in Dublin, congregating outside Leinster House on Molesworth Street.
Representatives from various spheres—political, trade unions, students, and community groups—participated, echoing chants for a Gaza ceasefire and the expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador from Ireland. The rally culminated in a poignant 'die-in' as a show of solidarity with Gaza and West Bank civilian casualties, staged outside Leinster House. A similar protest occurred at Cork City Hall, orchestrated by the Cork Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Their plea to city councilors focused on urging the government to actively strive toward ending the conflict.
